“I need to start this by saying, that menopausal women are severely undertreated, overlooked, and sometimes even ignored.

An I suppose I have the right to say it being 53 and an OBGYN for over 15 years.

A lot of women think they’re losing their minds because all of a sudden the strangest symptoms intensify. Life almost becomes unbearable…

Peri(menopausal) women experience anxiety, hair loss, insomnia, itchy spots all around their bodies (inside ears, and some parts of the chest most commonly), hot and cold flashes, dry, thinning skin, and...

…Horrible weight gain, which can reach 75-80 lbs of added weight.

Women Who Come to Me for the First Time Tell Me They Can’t Even Look in the Mirror or at the Photos of Themselves

"I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I’m never going to feel comfortable in my body, or fixed waistbands again. I'm never going to get my youthful looks back" - said the patient I saw today.

I fully understand how she feels and I'm happy to share a solution that I have seen (and experienced) works time and time again.

Women who follow this advice start seeing the first results as fast as in 3 days. They lose 10, 30, and more pounds within weeks…

If you're frustrated with your menopausal symptoms and don't like the physical changes you see in your body, the method I'm going to explain next can help you alleviate the symptoms and lose the weight, the bloat, and the meno belly.

But before I dive in, I'll tell you exactly what I say to my patients:

I know you might be skeptical now, and I understand you’ve tried many things and failed many times. And it’s tiring.

…Trying out this one healthy habit in your life, with possible life-changing benefits, will not bring you any harm.

But not even wanting to try means you’ll continue to be in search of the answers and solutions. You’ll continue to struggle with the menopausal weight and symptoms daily.

I call it ‘better try than sorry’.

It's not medication, not excruciating exercise, not counting calories. Just the most natural way to help your body through this tough stage of life.

Because What Women Are Offered at The Doctor’s Office Today – Just Doesn’t Work.

Women who complain of menopausal symptoms to their doctors are often prescribed birth control (if younger and suspected of perimenopause), antidepressants, vaginal estrogen, or HRT.

All of these may help to some extent, but they all are medications that come with side effects.

Also, none of these specifically tackle menopausal weight gain, meno belly, or bloating.

After medications fail to deliver results, women are often told to "just eat less and move more."

But what many doctors don't consider (or ignore?) is how difficult it is to lose weight during menopause.

Why We Gain Weight: It’s Like Your Body Is Against You

"I tried eating healthy and walking 1-2 miles daily but nothing seems to help." - Don't blame yourself, it's not you - all of your hormonal system is in shambles.

The ‘downfall’ starts with estrogen which becomes almost nonexistent in menopause and interacts directly with all the major digestive hormones.

Women's metabolism begins to shift quite significantly, meaning that with the same diet and activity levels, menopausal women are burning (far) fewer calories and an intensive exercise regimen will not fix that.

Don't get me wrong - staying active is great for mental well-being, but it won’t give menopausal women the weight loss results they’re looking for.

So What Makes Women in Menopause Burn Fat Fast and Easily?

The answer is - norepinephrine… Not medication, but - a chemical made in the nerve cells of your adrenal gland (stay with me, it will all make sense in a moment).

This wonderful ‘chemical’ supports weight loss and fat mobilization.

When norepinephrine release is triggered (I’ll explain how to trigger it naturally in a moment), it 'tells' fat cells to break down and release stored fat, which is then used as energy.

This means you burn more fat without doing anything additional and lose weight significantly easier - a benefit especially useful for menopausal women facing metabolic slowdowns and increased fat retention.

I think it’s also important to add, that norepinephrine helps regulate appetite, making us feel less hungry.

It also boosts mental clarity and alertness - a solution for women who struggle with brain fog.

As you can see, increased norepinephrine levels can change women’s lives, but…

…How To Trigger Norepinephrine in Your Body OR How To Burn Fat Without Struggles and Frustrations in Menopause

The best option to boost your norepinephrine, lose weight quickly, and ease menopause symptoms is… Personalized intermittent fasting.

Research shows that even short fasting periods trigger norepinephrine, naturally raising its levels in your body. The result? Faster fat burning, even when you're sitting on your couch.

Not only that.

Intermittent fasting helps balance your hormone levels, promotes cell repair and anti-aging (thus glowing, perkier skin), leads to better gut health, improves insulin sensitivity, boosts mental clarity and even may lower the risks of certain cancers (!).

Generally speaking, intermittent fasting has been proven to be very beneficial for women by multiple studies already and I’m extremely concerned and surprised that it’s not discussed more widely.

Fasting ‘Correctly’ To Trigger Fat-Burning Mechanisms

Since intermittent fasting is not about what you eat, but when you eat - choosing the optimal eating vs. fasting window is crucial.

And not only that… it’s not a ‘one-fits-all’ approach as many believe.

Googling ‘how long to fast’ will only further push you into the unknown. There’s so much misleading information.

As a doctor going through menopause, I researched fasting in-depth and discussed it with my colleagues, so I was able to set the right intermittent fasting plan for myself.

And I’ve experienced incredible results: I lost 12 pounds quickly after I started, and the weight has stayed off. I’m experiencing significantly fewer menopausal symptoms.

But let’s face it — not every woman is (or should be) a doctor to create the perfect intermittent fasting plan for herself!

So, I made it my mission to find the most accurate and convenient fasting plan, tailored for each woman individually, with everything included for a simple, successful fasting experience.

I've tried countless plans from books, forums, nutritionists, and coaches.

The best one I found so far is Nutrimate's intermittent fasting plan, which is beginner-friendly, menopause oriented, and highly personalized based on key questions.

It’s easy to follow and not overwhelming — I'll include the link to their free personalization quiz below.

The plan they create includes all the essential aspects of fasting that most other plans lack:

  • recommended fasting window lengths,

  • easy-to-make, delicious fasting-optimized recipes,

  • trackers to keep you informed about your daily habits,

  • a body status monitor to track your fat-burning stage,

  • a step-by-step daily intermittent fasting guide, and…

  • …answers to the most important, fasting-related questions (yes, you can drink coffee and tea while fasting, and it will still trigger the fat-burning norepinephrine).

I Have Been Recommending This Plan to All of the Women Who Want to Lose Menopausal Weight and the Response Has Been Unanimously Positive.

I've seen menopausal women lose tens of pounds of pure fat in just weeks, with bloating going away and other symptoms fading.

Although the intermittent fasting plan differs from woman to woman, the results are quite consistent:

  • weight loss and reduced bloating (-10 lbs in just weeks is the norm with my patients),

  • balanced mood and reduced anxiety (women say they ‘feel like themselves again’),

  • mental clarity and reduced brain fog,

  • better sleep, less night sweats,

  • increased energy, less hot/cold flashes,

  • lower inflammation and joint relief,

  • improved skin condition.

If you're unsure how to start intermittent fasting or have doubts and questions, get yourself this intermittent fasting plan for at least the first three months.

This way, everything is set up for you, and you can simply follow it daily to ensure you're doing it correctly from the start. (In 3 months you will not recognize yourself in the mirror!)

Also as a woman to woman…You don’t need to be perfect to have success with intermittent fasting. You just need to give it a shot - a try - every day.

I've been using this same Nutrimate’s intermittent fasting plan since I was 51 (am 53 now) and I remember my midsection was where I started losing first and that's usually not the case with most diets/exercise regimens I’ve tried. I gradually lost 45lb on it within about 6 months or so and have kept it off. My weight had always been between 130-140 until peri and then it got up to 180 no matter what I did and it was mostly on my midsection. Now my weight stays within the 125-130 lb range all the time. My friends have seen tremendous results with this plan too.

Post menopausal here- age 68- and I've been doing IF with nutrimate for 3 months now. I lost 28 lbs so far. I’m a picky eater but the plan that was created for me has plenty of recipes to offer and it’s been a long time since I ate so good before. I was a compulsive over eater all my life- binge eating- and tried everything to get my weight under control. IF is the only thing that worked, taking away the compulsion to eat constantly and I only wish I'd found it 40 years earlier!!! Good luck to every woman who’s going to try it, it’s a right thing to do!

This particular Nutrimate’s plan worked a treat on me. I'm the size I was in my 20s again after dropping 60lb, the debilitating hot flashes started to go away in 3 days, as well as the bloat all over my body. I was having panic attacks often and now they’re non existent. (I have the metabolism of a sloth with self-motivation issues and still it worked. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself).
